Feature Requests

Submit, discover, discuss, vote on, and follow product improvement requests in CapitalOS.

What this module does

Feature Requests is the shared feedback workspace for CapitalOS improvements. It lets users browse existing ideas, search and filter the list, submit a request, vote on urgency, add comments, and follow progress through defined statuses.

The workspace reduces duplicate requests and keeps the discussion and product status attached to a single record.

When to use it

Use Feature Requests when a workflow is missing, an existing capability could be improved, or the team has an idea that should be visible to other CapitalOS users. Search first so you can vote or comment on an existing request instead of creating a duplicate.

Use support channels rather than a feature request when you need help with an immediate account, data, or operational problem.

How it fits into CapitalOS

Feature Requests is a cross-product feedback area rather than an organization operations module. Requests can be categorized and move through submitted, under review, planned, in development, completed, or declined states.

Votes communicate urgency, while comments and images provide evidence and examples that make the requested outcome easier to understand.

Main concepts

  • Request: a proposed product improvement with a title, description, and category.
  • Category: the area of CapitalOS affected by the request.
  • Status: the request’s current product-review or delivery stage.
  • Vote: a user’s indication that the request is important to their work.
  • Comment: additional context, questions, examples, or discussion.
  • Attachment: an image that helps illustrate the problem or desired result.
  • My votes: a filter for requests the current user has supported.

Typical workflow

  1. Search the feature request list using the problem or capability name.
  2. Filter by category, status, or your votes and adjust the sort order.
  3. Open a related request and review its description, status, votes, and comments.
  4. Vote when the request matters to your workflow.
  5. Add a focused comment or image when you can contribute new evidence.
  6. If no request covers the need, submit a clear new request in the best category.
  7. Return to the request to follow status changes and discussion.

Permissions and prerequisites

You must be signed in to submit, vote, or comment. A useful request explains the problem, who encounters it, the desired outcome, and why the change matters. Do not include credentials, private customer information, or other sensitive data in descriptions, comments, or images.
