Core Workflow Modules
Understand the product decision workflow across Research, Quotation, Testing, and Returns.
The core workflow modules help an organization decide what to sell, what it should cost, whether it performs, and what happens after customers buy it. They share product identity through the SKU registry while keeping their own records, statuses, columns, and permissions.
Research
Use Research to collect and validate product opportunities. It is the place for early product details, competitor and advertising references, sourcing information, notes, categories, priorities, and readiness decisions.
Quotation
Use Quotation to evaluate sourcing and supplier economics. It combines products with cost of goods, pricing tiers, minimum order quantities, variations, supplier assignments, comments, and approval history.
Testing
Use Testing to review product and campaign performance. The workspace supports portfolio, Meta, and Google views with performance metrics, break-even context, decision rules, and evidence behind each row.
Returns
Use Returns to investigate post-purchase outcomes. Return records can connect a SKU with order, ticket, reason, refund, status, date, and other operational context.
How work moves between modules
An authorized user can move a researched product into Quotation and continue approved product work into Testing. The earlier records remain available, allowing the product detail and analytics surfaces to show context from more than one stage.
Returns is usually informed by orders and support activity rather than a direct workflow button. Matching SKUs and order identifiers are important because they allow CapitalOS to connect the return to the rest of the product history.
Permissions
Access is module-specific. A team member may be able to view Products but not edit Research, assign suppliers, or open Testing. Organization owners and administrators manage roles and module permissions.
