Record Quotation Costs, Pricing Tiers, and MOQ
Capture sourcing economics and variation terms without treating missing values as zero.
Before you begin
Open the correct organization quotation and confirm the SKU, product, currency context, and variation. Gather the supported supplier terms, including cost of goods, quantity tiers, minimum order quantity, and any other available sourcing details. Do not estimate values merely to fill a blank.
How it works
Quotation stores commercial evidence used in sourcing and later profitability review. A base product and its variations can have different costs or terms. Pricing tiers associate quantities with offered prices, while MOQ records the minimum quantity tied to an offer. Downstream break-even or margin views are only as reliable as this input.
Step-by-step
- Open Quotation and search for the product SKU.
- Select the correct parent or child record and review its current status.
- Enter or verify the cost of goods in the expected currency context.
- Add the minimum order quantity supplied for the offer.
- Add each supported quantity tier with its corresponding unit price.
- Keep tiers ordered logically and avoid overlapping or unexplained quantities.
- Add supporting comments or attachments when the commercial source needs context.
- Save the quotation and reopen it to confirm that values persisted.
- Compare variation terms individually before using a parent-level conclusion.
Check your result
The correct SKU and variation display the intended cost, MOQ, and quantity tiers. Blank values remain visibly unavailable rather than silently becoming zero. Supporting material and status history make the source and timing of changes understandable.
Common problems
A cost looks inconsistent: verify currency, unit basis, variation, and whether the value belongs to a tier rather than the base offer.
A tier cannot be saved: check missing quantities, duplicate breakpoints, invalid numeric values, and your edit access.
Testing shows incomplete economics: confirm that the approved quotation and product identity supply the fields used by the calculation.
Terms differ by variation: record them on the appropriate child rather than overwriting the group with one value.
Permissions and data notes
Quotation editing requires suitable organization access. Commercial terms can influence decisions but do not replace accounting records or final contractual review. Preserve the original evidence, record changes deliberately, and do not treat a blank, stale, or rejected quote as an approved cost.
