Use the Research Grid, Filters, and Bulk Actions

Find research records, control visible columns, select products, and apply supported workflow actions safely.

Before you begin

Select the correct organization and decide what group of research records you intend to review. Bulk actions can affect several products, so begin with narrow search and filter criteria and confirm the selection count before applying an action.

How it works

The Research workspace is a configurable data grid. Search narrows records by supported text fields, filters narrow by available column values, and the column chooser controls which information is visible. Row selection enables supported bulk operations and workflow transitions. Grid state can vary by organization and user preferences.

Step-by-step

  1. Open Research and clear stale filters if the expected records are not visible.
  2. Search by a stable SKU or product name to locate a specific item.
  3. Apply status, priority, category, or other configured filters to build a review queue.
  4. Open the column chooser and show the evidence needed for the current decision.
  5. Reorder or resize visible columns to compare records efficiently.
  6. Select individual rows and inspect the selection count.
  7. Review parent and child rows so a group is not selected unintentionally.
  8. Choose only a supported bulk action appropriate for every selected product.
  9. Read the confirmation message, verify the destination and record count, and then confirm.
  10. Refresh or reapply filters to verify the resulting status or workflow location.

Check your result

The grid shows the intended records and columns, the selection contained only the expected products, and the completed action changed the correct rows. A product moved to another workflow appears in its destination without losing its Research identity.

Common problems

Search returns nothing: remove filters, verify the organization, and try the exact SKU without extra spaces.

A needed column is absent: it may be hidden, unavailable to the role, or not configured for the organization.

A bulk action is disabled: the selection can contain incompatible statuses, child records, missing SKUs, or records that do not meet the destination prerequisites.

The grid layout changed: user preferences, organization column configuration, or screen size can alter the presentation.

Permissions and data notes

Viewing, editing, importing, and moving records can require different permissions. Treat confirmation dialogs as a final scope check, not a formality. Avoid using bulk changes to work around validation errors; resolve identity or required data first.
