Read Finance Dashboards and Targets
Interpret date-range financial analytics and compare actual performance with organization targets.
Before you begin
Select the correct organization and reporting date range. Confirm that commerce, advertising, and cost inputs used by the selected Finance domain are available. Know whether you are reviewing revenue, cost, profit, margin, communication performance, or another supported domain before interpreting a headline value.
How it works
Finance combines supported organization analytics into date-range dashboards, summary cards, charts, channel context, targets, and spreadsheet-style detail. Metrics can be calculated from synchronized and manually maintained inputs. Targets provide an organization benchmark; they do not change actual historical performance.
Step-by-step
- Open Finance and confirm the active organization.
- Select the supported domain that matches your question.
- Choose a date range and note its start and end boundaries.
- Read revenue, costs, profit, and margin together rather than isolating one metric.
- Compare chart trends with the summary values for the same period.
- Review channel or source context and any displayed health warnings.
- Open target controls when authorized and confirm the target period and metric.
- Create or update a target using an internally approved value.
- Compare actual progress with the target without treating the target as a forecast.
- Recheck the dashboard after source data and cost updates are complete.
Check your result
You can explain the organization, domain, date range, metric definitions, source coverage, and target period behind the view. Actual and target values remain clearly distinct, and displayed warnings qualify any conclusion based on incomplete data.
Common problems
A metric changes after refresh: synchronization, backfill, attribution, or cost updates can alter derived results.
Profit looks too high: inspect ad spend, product costs, operational costs, fees, and data-gap warnings.
A target is not visible: verify metric, period, organization, and your access to target management.
Portfolio and organization totals differ: scope, currency, filters, and available organizations can differ.
Permissions and data notes
Finance access and target management can require different permissions. Dashboard values are operational analytics, not a general ledger, tax record, or guarantee. Preserve the chosen date range and source context when exporting or sharing conclusions.
