Orders
Search synchronized orders and review customer, payment, line-item, return, ticket, and timeline context.
What this module does
Orders provides the organization’s transaction-level view of customer orders. The list shows core order information such as order number, customer, total, payment status, fulfillment status, and date, with search, refresh, export, and pagination controls.
Opening an order provides a deeper view with overview details, line items, payments, returns, support tickets, and a combined timeline when those records are available.
When to use it
Use Orders to locate a transaction, confirm its customer and fulfillment state, understand revenue or refund context, inspect the products purchased, and move into related return or communication work.
Use Finance for aggregated reporting and Communications for the complete customer conversation.
How it fits into CapitalOS
Orders are normally synchronized from the organization’s connected commerce store. Order line items connect commercial activity to Shopify variants and CapitalOS SKUs when matching is available.
Returns and tickets can reference an order, allowing the order detail to gather post-purchase events around one transaction. Finance and Testing can use order evidence in aggregated calculations and decision views.
Main concepts
- Order number: the customer-facing or store-facing order identifier.
- Financial status: payment state such as paid, pending, refunded, or partially refunded.
- Fulfillment status: the current fulfillment state supplied by the commerce source.
- Line item: a purchased product or variation and its quantity, price, and available SKU mapping.
- Payment and refund context: the monetary events associated with the order.
- Order timeline: a chronological view of available order, return, and ticket activity.
- Related return or ticket: a linked operational record that explains post-purchase work.
Typical workflow
- Select the correct organization.
- Search by order or customer information, or browse the paginated list.
- Check financial and fulfillment status in the list.
- Open the order to review customer, totals, line items, and payment information.
- Review linked returns and support tickets.
- Use the timeline to understand the sequence of available activity.
- Follow the related record into Returns or Communications when more action is required.
Permissions and prerequisites
You need Orders access for the organization. Viewing linked Returns or Communications records also requires access to those modules.
Order completeness depends on the Shopify connection, synchronization state, and product or SKU matching. Newly connected stores or recently created orders may not appear immediately.
